PGY- 1 -Class of 2026

Nathan Katz, DO is a graduate of Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine Cleveland and completed his undergraduate degree at Baldwin Wallace University. His hometown is Columbus, Ohio. Nathan chose CWRU/MetroHealth because of its commitment to serve the underserved community of Cleveland, academic opportunities in Physiatry, the close knit culture of the residents and the passion of clinicians/staff in aiding residents achieve their goals and endeavors.

His favorite thing about living in Cleveland is the warm and welcoming nature of the people in the community. His hobbies include playing competitive tennis, all other racket sports, hiking in Cleveland Metroparks, and going to Alternative music concerts.

Nathan’s clinical interests include Musculoskeletal Medicine, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Minimally Invasive Ultrasound Guided Interventions, Neuromodulation, Neurorehabilitation, and Electromyography.


Brian Jordan, DO is a graduate of the Dublin branch of Ohio University- Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine and obtained his undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. 

Originally from Austin, Texas, Brian chose CWRU/MetroHealth for the supportive culture, broad range of PM&R exposure, amazing clinical faculty, and the warmhearted leadership from Dr. Placeway. 

His favorite parts about living in Cleveland are the Metropark system, all of the professional sports nearby, and being close to his friends and family. 

Brian’s hobbies include lifting, swimming, hiking, golfing, watching college football (especially the Buckeyes and Longhorns), and spending quality time with his fiancé. 

His clinical interests within PM&R include MSK/sports, ultrasound, Osteopathic manipulative medicine, and pain medicine. 


Georges Abdelahad, MD is a graduate of Wake Forest School of Medicine and completed his undergraduate degree at Florida State University.

His hometown is West Palm Beach, FL. Georges chose CWRU/MetroHealth because of its variety of clinical settings, research infrastructure, and familial camaraderie.

His favorite thing about living in Cleveland is the food scene, especially Middle Eastern cuisine. His hobbies include basketball, tennis, hiking and exploring new cities. His clinical interests include Pain and Interventional Spine.


Samir Sherali, MD is a graduate of Texas Tech University Health Science Center and completed his undergraduate degree at Cornell University.

His hometown is Euless, Texas. Samir chose CWRU/MetroHealth for its combination of a comprehensive training program, extensive research, supportive culture, and a dedication to innovation.

His favorite things in Cleveland are Lake Erie, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Metroparks, the arts scene, and the pro sports teams! His hobbies include basketball, painting, long walks, watching tv/sports, and playing video games.

Samir's clinical interests include Adaptive Sports, Prosthetics and Orthotics, SCI, Pain, and Sports Medicine.
