Akhil Anand, MD

Dr. Anand is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.  He works as a staff psychiatrist at the Alcohol and Drug Recovery Center and is also the co-Director of the Multidisciplinary Alcohol-associated Liver Disease Program (MAP Clinic).  Additionally, Dr. Anand serves as the Program Director for the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Program.

As part of the fellowship, fellows will have the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Anand at Cleveland Clinic's inpatient drug withdrawal unit and at the MAP Clinic. Dr. Anand is responsible for overseeing the didactic programming for the fellows.

Dr. Anand's interests include benzodiazepines, alcohol, nootropics, psychedelics, inpatient and outpatient drug withdrawal management, alcohol-associated liver disease, harm reduction, recovery models, and medical education.
