Role in Fellowship Program – Alumnus (2020)
Brief Description – Dr. Labbad’s interests include obstetric informatics, reporting and data visualization, and building tools to reduce perinatal and infant mortality. In residency, Dr. Labbad pursued electives in Clinical Informatics and developed proof-of-concept dashboards for the monitoring of safe prescribing habits in the obstetric population and served as a volunteer on the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists informatics team. During fellowship, he developed a Postpartum RHIG Prophylaxis Toolkit that for the first time in the literature identified the rate of missed postpartum RHIG prophylaxis and implemented automated documentation tools and advisories to prevent this medication never-event. Stay tuned for the results of this multisite study. He has since moved back home to Southern California with his wife Jenny. In his spare time, he enjoys cycling, sleeping in hammocks, playing virtual reality video games, and enjoying the company of good people.
