- Welcome from our Chief Residents
We are excited and honored to have you consider our program for your Psychiatry training!
Due to the increased demand for mental health treatment in the Cleveland area, and across the nation, we are a growing program and department. With 30 residents and counting, we cover many different services including inpatient Psychiatry, outpatient clinics, and consults from the Emergency Department and the medical floors. We also offer unique experiences at the County jail, a local state hospital and more.
As you may or may not know, MetroHealth has undergone a remarkable transformation over the last couple of years! The Inpatient Psychiatry services moved from the Main campus, on W. 25th Street, to the new Behavioral Health Hospital in Cleveland Heights. The new hospital houses Mood and Thought disorder units, a Psychiatric-Medical unit, and a Dual-diagnosis unit. In October 2024, the Psychiatric ED at MH Cleveland Heights welcomed its first patients.
As you can see, we are a hard-working program committed to our patient population, many of whom are underserved. When we are not working, we have fun exploring Cleveland and all that it has to offer. We are a friendly, fun-loving group who gets along well with each other. The reasonable cost of living in Cleveland allows our residents to experience all that our great city has to offer!
We hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Hannah Goddard, DO
