Co-Director: Stephanie Klonowski, APRN-CNP

Ms Klonowski is Co-Director of the Neuroscience APP fellowship at MetroHealth. She is an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

She completed her masterʼs education at Case Western Reserve University and post-masterʼs certificate training at Loyola University Chicago. She was the inaugural graduate of the MetroHealth APP Neuroscience Fellowship and is committed to providing future fellows outstanding training in Neurology and Neurocritical Care.

Co-Director: Theodore Bowen, MD

Dr Bowen completed a Neurology residency and Neurocritical care fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University. He has a special interest in EEG monitoring in the critical care setting.

He has a passion for teaching and medical education and has completed a certificate program for Leadership in Medical Education offered jointly from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

In addition to the being the Faculty Director of the APP Neuroscience Fellowship, he is also the Director of Education for the Department of Neurology, Neuroscience Clerkship Director for CWRU School of Medicine, and Assistant Director of Informatics for the Department of Neurology.

Chair of Neurology: Agnieszka Ardelt, MD, PHD, MBA

Dr Ardelt completed her Neurology residency as well as her Neurovascular/Neurocritical care fellowship at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr Ardelt foresaw the need for an APP Fellowship in the rapidly expanding field of Neurocritical Care and started the first-of-its-kind program in the country here at MetroHealth in 2018. Her leadership and mentorship continues to be an integral part of the APP Fellowship program. She currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Neurology.

Director of Neurocritical Care: Ari M. Wachsman, MD

Dr Wachsman completed residency training at the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System in New York, and fellowship in neurocritical care at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, before joining MetroHealth. He brings experience, clinical excellence, and passion for the highest quality patient care to MetroHealth.
