The Department of Surgery at MetroHealth has a long-standing commitment to excellence in surgical education. The majority of our faculty are double boarded. Our current dedicated, academic staff include many well-known national leaders who currently hold, or have held, positions of President or President-Elect of the following organizations:

• Co-Chair American Association of Endocrine Surgeons Guidelines for definitive Management of Thyroid Diseases in adults
• Associate Examiners for American Board of Surgery
• Editorial board members for multiple journals

Our faculty have received numerous teaching awards, including several Kaiser-Permanente teaching awards from CWRU, Surgery residency teaching awards, and the outstanding teacher award from the Association for Surgical Education.
