Our Leadership

The MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute is the only Rehabilitation Institute in the world led by members of the prestigious National Academies: 

• John Chae, MD, Director of the Institute and Department Chair, is a member of the National Academy of Medicine. The AAP recently honored Dr. Chae at its annual meeting. Attendees saw this video, which highlights his pioneering work and professional accomplishments, and received a copy of the MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute’s current outcomes report.  
• P. Hunter Peckham, PhD, Co-Director of the Institute, is a member of the National Academy of Engineering.
