2019

  • MetroHealth System Great Catch Award. A new inpatient order came through the pharmacy for losartan which was not on the patient’s home medication list. After searching the patient’s EMR, it was noted the patient had angioedema on lisinopril which was not on her allergy list. The medical team was notified. Resident: Emily Doycich
  • MetroHealth System 1st Place Poster Award at Medication Safety Fair. The poster was on strategies employed to the increase percent of barcode medication administration (BCMA) in the emergency department. Resident: L. Hunter Reese; Preceptors: James McDonald, Mike Gutridge, Jay Kuhn

  • Ohio Society of Health System Pharmacist Best Practice Award. MetroHealth’s Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Services were recognized at the state level for their innovative, patient centered services in chronic disease state management, specialty pharmacy, and geriatrics care.
  • Ohio College of Clinical Pharmacy, 1st Place for original research design "Use of dalbavancin as an alternative to traditional agents for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections." Resident: Dustin Freshwater, Preceptor: Nina Naeger-Murphy.

2015
