Spine Fellowship

MetroHealth has participated in spine surgery fellowship training for the last 30 years. Originally a part of the Orthopaedic Spine Fellowship Program of University Hospitals, Henry Bohlman, MD, MetroHealth has trained countless leaders in the care of spine trauma.

MetroHealth Medical Center presently participates in the Spine Fellowship of Cleveland Clinic combined orthopaedic and neurosurgery program.

Both orthopaedic and neurosurgery fellows rotate through MetroHealth for 2-4 months as part of their comprehensive year of specialty training in various spinal conditions. MetroHealth treats more spine and spinal cord injuries than any other institution in Northeast Ohio.

The fellow works closely with the spine surgery attendings Jonathan Belding, MD, Michael Kelly, MD and Tim Moore, MD. They are responsible for the management of the spine trauma service, as well as participating in busy elective degenerative and deformity practices.
