The MetroHealth Medical Center is an outstanding academic medical center and has been a major affiliate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine since 1914.
The primary goal of our program is to provide residents with a well-rounded education and clinical experience in a friendly and enthusiastic academic environment. We pride ourselves on our excellent state-of-the-art patient care as well as our family-oriented residency program.
MetroHealth’s Internal Medicine Residency Program has an excellent reputation. We pride ourselves in training future leaders in academic and clinical medicine. Over the last 50 years, we have graduated well over 1,200 physicians, many of whom received acceptance into the most competitive fellowship programs.

Aims
- To offer an innovative training program that cultivates residents, through graduated autonomy and mentorship, to become leaders with the capacity to pursue careers in clinical medicine, education, research and/or administration.
