Established in 1976, the MetroHealth Family Medicine Residency is an ACGME-accredited training program, with sites at Ohio City Health Center and MetroHealth Broadway Health Center. Our program’s goals are to:
The department's faculty members represent leaders in geriatrics, obstetrics, medical quality improvement, and patient education. A multidisciplinary team approach to patient care is at the heart of our philosophy of residency training. The Family Medicine Department strives to create an atmosphere where learning takes place in a supportive and collegial environment.
After completing the residency program, our residents leave with the confidence that they have the clinical skills to manage a wide array of health concerns and disease, strong skills in the application of evidence-based medicine, and a deep understanding and appreciation of the family and community systems that shape their patients' lives.
