Family Medicine

Established in 1976, the MetroHealth Family Medicine Residency is a dually-accredited ACGME/AOA training program, with sites at  MetroHealth Main Campus and MetroHealth Broadway Health Center. Our program’s mission is to provide excellence in the education of family physicians as well as high-quality, community-oriented, family-centered health care to all people.
The department's faculty members represent leaders in geriatrics, obstetrics, medical quality improvement, and patient education. A multidisciplinary team approach to patient care is at the heart of our philosophy of residency training. The Family Medicine Department strives to create an atmosphere where learning takes place in a supportive and collegial environment.

After completing the residency program, our residents leave with the confidence that they have the clinical skills to manage a wide array of health concerns and disease, strong skills in the application of evidence-based medicine, and a deep understanding and appreciation of the family and community systems that shape their patients' lives.
