I was born in Cairo, Egypt and grew up in Abu Dhabi, UAE. At the age of 16, I moved back to Cairo, Egypt to start Dental School. My decision to pursue dentistry stemmed from a desire to combine science, artistry, and direct patient care. Oral health plays a critical role in overall well-being, and I was drawn to a field where I could relieve pain, restore confidence, and build lasting relationships with patients. That calling ultimately led me to dental school and into hospital- based practice, where I continue to focus on delivering comprehensive, patient- centered care.
With a strong foundation built on over a decade of experience in hospital-based dentistry, academia, private practice, and research, I bring a blend of clinical expertise and leadership to my current role. I hold a Master’s in Operative & Esthetic Dentistry and graduated top of my class in dental school. My work has included managing complex restorative cases, mentoring students, and conducting research on the color stability of restorative materials. I specialize in comprehensive general, operative, esthetic, and prosthetic dentistry, with additional experience in oral surgery, endodontics, and the care of medically compromised patients.
With all this background, joining MetroHealth has still been the greatest addition to my career and resume. The General Practice Residency program is exceptionally strong, structured in a way that fosters smooth and continuous learning while advancing clinical skills. It is challenging, yet so well-organized that learning feels natural and well-supported. I’ve thrived in this environment, where patient-centered care is paired with a rigorous hospital-level clinical scope. The curriculum is rich and has meaningfully advanced both my knowledge and clinical competence. One of the most humbling and rewarding aspects of my training has been providing care for the special needs population—an experience that has deepened my empathy, sharpened my clinical skills, and reinforced the importance of patience and advocacy in dentistry. In my role as Chief Resident, I’ve grown even further by mentoring junior residents, refining clinical workflows, and advocating for resident wellness. I am especially grateful to the program leadership and their ongoing collaboration with GME, which has reinforced my understanding of the value of structure, communication, and hierarchy in medical education. GME plays a vital role in strengthening resident support and education, and I have learned so much from being part of that system.
Living in Cleveland, and especially in the vibrant Ohio City neighborhood, has been an incredibly rewarding part of my residency journey. The city’s rich cultural diversity, thriving food scene, and welcoming community have provided a perfect backdrop for both personal and professional growth. In Ohio City, I’ve especially enjoyed the sense of neighborhood connection, local markets, and the opportunity to engage with a community that values health and wellness. This environment has deepened my appreciation for serving patients from all walks of life and strengthened my commitment to community-centered care.
