About Me

Title(s): Resident
Born and raised in a rural community in Ghana, I experienced firsthand the challenges of limited access to basic health resources. In an environment where dental care was often unavailable, I developed a deep understanding of the disparities that exist in global health. These early experiences sparked a lasting passion for health equity, particularly in underserved populations.

In 2015, I graduated as a dentist from the University of Ghana, where I received comprehensive clinical training and built a solid foundation in both preventive and restorative dental care. My commitment to public health led me to subsequently pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Washington in 2023, where I broadened my understanding of systemic health challenges and the social determinants of health.

Throughout my education and practice, I have remained deeply aware of the barriers that prevent vulnerable communities from receiving timely, quality care. These encounters have shaped my dedication to bridging gaps in oral healthcare access, advocating for marginalized populations, and contributing to sustainable, community-driven healthcare solutions.

The Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program at MetroHealth has offered me the opportunity to advance this mission. The program’s commitment to excellence, diversity, and service is not only strengthening my clinical skills but also deepening my resolve to serve with compassion and equity.

My residency training at MetroHealth has been a truly rewarding experience. The program’s diverse, inclusive, and non-discriminatory community, along with the unwavering support from faculty and staff, has created an environment that genuinely feels like home. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow while delivering high-quality, advanced healthcare to a wide range of patients. Being part of a system committed to equity and excellence in care has been both fulfilling and inspiring.

Though I’m still relatively new to Cleveland, I’m already enjoying my time here. The people are warm and welcoming, and the cost of living is refreshingly reasonable. I’m looking forward to experiencing my first winter and exploring all the fun places and activities the city has to offer.
