About Me

Title(s): Resident

When people ask where I’m from, I usually pause because I’ve moved often. I was born and raised in South Korea during the first decade of my life, then have lived in various parts of North America since. California feels most like “home,” as I spent much of my post–high school years there. I chose internal medicine because it allows me to care for a broad range of conditions while engaging in thoughtful, in-depth problem-solving.

What I enjoy most about MetroHealth is its people, culture, and strong sense of community. The program provides a balance of inpatient and outpatient experiences, giving me the opportunity to care for patients across settings and build lasting relationships. I’ve been inspired by the dedication and generosity of our faculty and staff, who create a supportive learning environment while modeling excellent patient care.

Cleveland has so much to offer — from great food and coffee spots to beautiful parks and lakefront trails. One highlight of my time here has been adopting two cats from a local animal shelter; spending time with them is my favorite way to recharge. I also enjoy the city’s growing pickleball community, with its friendly players and new courts!
