Welcome from Our Chief Residents

We are excited and honored to have you consider our program for your Psychiatry training!

Due to the increased demand for mental health treatment in the Cleveland area, and across the nation, we are a growing program and department. Psychiatry residents gain broad clinical experience across a wide range of settings, including inpatient psychiatry, outpatient clinics, and consultation-liaison psychiatry for the Emergency Department and medical floors at the Main Campus. In addition, we offer unique training opportunities at the county jail, a local state hospital, and other diverse clinical sites.

As part of The MetroHealth System’s ongoing transformation, over the last couple of years! The inpatient psychiatry services moved from the Main campus, on W. 25th Street, to the new Behavioral Health Hospital (BHH) in Cleveland Heights in 2022. The new BHH houses Mood and Thought disorder units, a Psychiatric-Medical unit, a Dual-diagnosis unit, and Geriatric Psychiatry unit. In October 2024, the Psychiatric ED at MH Cleveland Heights welcomed its first patients.

As you can see, we are a hard-working program committed to our patients, many of whom are underserved. When we are not working, we have fun exploring Cleveland and all that it has to offer. We are a friendly, fun-loving group who gets along well with each other. The reasonable cost of living in Cleveland allows our residents to experience all that our great city has to offer!

We hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,
