Application Process
We are committed to your safety. We offer virtual interview opportunities for all of our applicants. We will work with you to plan an educational and mutually beneficial interview experience.
Applications are accepted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applications are accepted beginning September 1 through December 31 for a residency position that begins the following year.
Applications must include:
- ERAS Application
- Curriculum vitae
- Three (3) letters of recommendation. We expect at least one letter to be from a Family Medicine physician.
- Dean's letter
- Personal statement
- Medical school transcript
- Medical student performance evaluation (MSPE)
- USMLE Steps 1 and Step 2 CK
- COMLEX Levels 1 and 2 PE
In addition:
- Medical School graduation date within 3 years
- We accept and sponsor a limited number of both J1 and H1-B visas
Interviews
Interviews are held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays beginning in October and ending by mid- January. Interviews are by invitation only and all communications regarding applications will be conducted through ERAS.
Interviews will all be virtual, and begin with a program introduction and open discussion led by our Program Director, Amber Whited-Watson, DO. Additionally, we will be offering frequent “Zoom Socials” to candidates who have interviewed, and are interested, to meet with current residents and faculty in a more relaxed environment to ask questions and learn about daily life as a resident physician at MetroHealth Department of Family Medicine.
