Application Process
The Addiction Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship is open to candidates who have completed a Master’s in Nursing or Physician Assistant curriculum and are currently or will be, licensed at the time of matriculation into the program. See below for the application link. The MHMC Addiction Medicine Fellowship will accept one candidate each year on a competitive basis.
Candidates will be selected by a comprehensive view of graduate school transcripts, work experience, clinical rotations, leadership qualities, personal statements, and interviews. Admission requirements include:
- Graduate of an accredited PA or APRN program. (APRNs must have graduated from an accredited Family or Psychiatric APRN program)
- National certification through NCCPA, ANCC, or AACN by matriculation date
- Ohio State Licensure (PA via State Medical Board; APRN/RN via Ohio Board of Nursing)
- Eligible for DEA registration and BLS certified by matriculation date
- Application should include: CV or Resume, a cover letter, and two letters of recommendation
Application cycle
The 2026 Application Cycle will open on January 1, 2026, and end on March 31, 2026, with an anticipated start in the summer of 2025.
