Ultrasound Fellowship

MetroHealth Ultrasound Fellowship from MetroHealth on Vimeo.

MetroHealth Medical Center offers a one-year fellowship in emergency medicine ultrasound. The program seeks to prepare future leaders in emergency medicine ultrasound through the development of academic, clinical and administrative skills in emergency ultrasound. The fellowship will provide board-eligible emergency physicians or with significant academic and hands-on exposure to all areas of bedside ultrasound.

The fellow will be expected to function clinically as an attending in the department and will be responsible for working 2-3 shifts per week. During non-clinical hours, the fellow will work closely with the fellowship director, ultrasound faculty and various ultrasound focused physicians throughout the hospital.

A structured block curriculum has been created to maximize the fellow's learning experience.  Learning will be accomplished by a combination of bedside scanning, personal mentorship, structured didactics and self-directed learning.  Throughout the training, fellows will have the opportunity to develop their own teaching skills.
