Application Process
Eligibility Requirements
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited four-year AP/CP or three-year AP residency program.
- Candidates must be board-eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology (AP) or Anatomic and Clinical Pathology (AP/CP) by the American Board of Pathology.
- Individuals accepted into the program must obtain an unrestricted permanent Ohio State Medical License before the program starts on July 1st.

We are currently recruiting for the 2027-2028 academic year.
The following must be submitted to our Program Coordinator:
- Completed College of American Pathologists (CAP) Fellowship Application
- Current CV
- Three letters of recommendation
- Personal Statement
We are participating in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for the 2028-2029 academic year.
Academic Year 2028-2029 Timeline:
Applications — currently open
January 2027: Programs start interviewing
Feb. 3, 2027: Match opens for registration to programs and applicants
March 10, 2027: Ranking opens
April 14, 2027: Ranking closes
April 28, 2027: Match day
July 2028: Start of fellowship

Visa Information
MetroHealth sponsors J-1 visas. At the discretion of the program, H-1B visas may be issued on a case-by-case basis but cannot be guaranteed to any applicant.
