Recognition and Achievements:

First public healthcare system to install Epic electronic health record (1999)

Epic Physician Mentorship Program involvement – Founded (2019)

Founded by David Bar-Shain, MD, The Epic PAC Mentorship Program is a cross-institution, cross-generational opportunity that pairs physician informaticists in early-to-mid-career with a colleague in mid-to-late-career to share wisdom, expand horizons, develop ideas, nurture talent, renew enthusiasm, coach for career advancement, and grow the next generation of Epic PAC physician leaders and mentors. In its 4 years of existence, more than 240 unique individuals have been mentored by a more experienced colleague.

HISTORY:

  • The program was sparked during a peer-to-peer session given at XGM 2019: Mentoring For Career & Promotion: Leveraging Your Work In Epic
  • In our pilot year (2019-2020), we had 120+ participants and stood up 61 mentorship pairs.
  • In year 2 (2020-2021), we had 123 participants and stood up 73 mentorship pairs.
  • In year 3 (2021-2022), we had 124 participants and stood up 77 mentorship pairs.
  • In year 4 (2022-2023), we had 134 participants and stood up 95 mentorship pairs.
  • Since inception, more than 170 unique mentees have been matched to a mentor.

CHIME (College of Healthcare Information Management Executives) HealthCare's "Most Wired" Award (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018)

This program recognizes healthcare organizations that use innovative and disruptive technologies to advance health and care in all settings. The goal is to identify best practices and promote the strategic use of healthcare IT to elevate the health and care of communities around the world. In 2019, this award was split between the different levels of care (Ambulatory, Acute, and Long Term Care).

HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model EMRAM and O-EMRAM Stage 7 Status (2014, revalidated in: 2017, 2020, 2023)

This model measures the adoption and utilization of electronic medical record (EMR) functions.

HIMSS Enterprise Davies Award (2015)

The HIMSS Nicholas E. Davies Award of Excellence recognizes outstanding achievement by organizations who have utilized health information technology, process improvement, and organizational culture to substantially improve clinical outcomes as well as drive operational and financial value.

KLAS Arch Collaborative Survey (2021)

EHR implementation was in the 97th percentile of all EHR implementations in the US.
