Application Process

The Brain Injury Medicine Fellowship Program accepts applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Applications are accepted beginning July 15 through September 23rd for a residency position that begins the following year.

A complete application includes:

  • ERAS application
  • CV
  • Personal statement
  • Medical Diploma
  • Annual Milestone Evaluations
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation
  • Dean's letter
  • Medical school transcripts
  • ECFMG (if applicable)
  • USMLE or COMLEX Scores

Fellowship Interviews

Fellowship applicants are interviewed Mondays through Fridays beginning early August and ending late September. Interviews are by invitation only. Invitations are sent out via email. The interview visit starts with dinner the night before the interview day at a local restaurant, so please plan your travel accordingly.

The dinner gives applicants an opportunity to meet with the program director and some of the attendings on an informal basis to learn more about the program and ask questions about living in Cleveland.

Formal interviews will take place at the MetroHealth Rehabilitation Institute at the MetroHealth Medical Center, Old Brooklyn, 4229 Pearl Road, Cleveland (note that this is 1.5 miles south of the MetroHealth Medical Center Main Campus). The interview day begins at 8 a.m. and ends by late afternoon.
